Obituary of Henry Uwe Latkolik
Henry Uwe Latkolik, born on September 10, 1964, in Sindelfingen Baden-Wuertenberg (Mercedes Town), Germany, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 4, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Henry was the beloved partner of Sheri, cherished son of Siegfried, loving brother of Tom and brother-in-law of Patricia, and adored uncle of Emily and Sarah. He was also a devoted stepfather to Shane. Henry was predeceased by his mother, Karin, and his brother, Bob.
Henry's life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He and his family immigrated to Canada when he was just 10 months old, and from a young age, he formed an unbreakable bond with his two brothers. His childhood was filled with joy, laughter, and a passion for hockey, but it was his love for the towing and trucking industry that truly defined his professional life. Henry's commitment to his work was matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, even a total stranger.
In 2012, Henry made the bold decision to move to Manitoba, where he embraced a new chapter in his life. He rekindled his love for towing and found immense pride in working alongside the local police forces. Henry's love for the great outdoors was evident in everything he did, and he often remarked that there was always something to do outside. His beloved puppies, Tinkerbell, Shrimp, Minnie, Happy, Munchie, and Bambam, brought him immeasurable joy, and his passion for wrestling was a source of endless entertainment and excitement.
Henry's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. He touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the stories, memories, and laughter he shared with those he held dear.
In accordance with Henry's wishes, there will be no funeral or service. Instead, a celebration of his life is tentatively scheduled for Canada Day weekend at Victoria Beach, Manitoba. Friends and family are invited to bring their campers, tents, or book a night or two at the Birchwood Motel as they come together to honor and remember Henry's remarkable life.
Henry Uwe Latkolik will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he fly free like the angel he was, and may his legacy continue to inspire and uplift those who carry his memory in their hearts.
