Theresa McDougall

Obituary of Theresa Marie McDougall

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we mourn the sudden passing of Theresa Marie McDougall (Forest), a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother at the age of 74.

Theresa was born on October 23, 1950, in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, and passed away on February 7, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the beloved daughter of the late George and Sarah Forest and was the cherished mother of Tricia (Jason) Pacheco and Jennifer (Rod) Slaughter. Theresa was also a loving and devoted grandmother to Kaitlin Pacheco, Sydney Pacheco and Isabelle Slaughter. She is survived by her siblings Albert (Lucille) Forest, Bernie Forest, Raymond Forest, and Lucille (John) Swerdelian, numerous nieces and nephews, and her ex-spouse Wayne McDougall.

Growing up in Winnipeg, Theresa attended St. John's High School and spent her teenage years at Norquay Park, where she formed lifelong friendships and enjoyed playing baseball, watching hockey, and singing with her friends and siblings. Her warm and caring nature endeared her to everyone she met, and her positive attitude was a source of inspiration to those around her.

Theresa was known for her kind and generous spirit, her heart of gold, and her infectious laugh that could light up any room. She had a passion for crafts, crossword puzzles, true crime shows, and she enjoyed playing darts. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting by the water at her sister Lucille's house, finding peace and tranquility in the gentle lapping of the waves.

Theresa's presence in the lives of those who knew her was a gift. She had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved, and her warmth and compassion touched the hearts of many. Her daughters and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she poured her love and wisdom into their lives, leaving an indelible mark on each of them.

Theresa faced the challenges of breast cancer with strength and grace. Throughout her treatments, she maintained a positive attitude and never lost her infectious spirit. Her resilience and courage were a testament to her indomitable spirit and unwavering determination.

The sudden passing of Theresa has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. In this time of grief, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lucille and John Swerdelian, as well as Raymond Forest, for their undeniable support and care for Theresa during her illness. Their love and compassion provided immeasurable comfort to her during her most challenging days. We also express our sincere appreciation to the nurses at St. Boniface Cancer Care Clinic, who treated Theresa with kindness and compassion, offering her comfort and care throughout her treatments.

While Theresa's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that she was cherished and adored beyond measure.
