Obituary of Brian Delmage
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brian Delmage, 72 years of age, at the Riverview Health Centre on February 14, 2025.
Brian is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Linda, along with their beloved fur babies Amber, Tabs and Tia.
Brian is survived by his sister Betty Shannon; brother Brent (Margaret); nephew Kevin; niece Heather (Daniel) their children, Sophie and Owen; aunties Sadie Calen, Ester Rogers and Maxine Hill; brother-in-law John Zubatiuk (Patricia); nephew Jonathan, nephew Daniel Gulchak, great nieces Kalena and Annika; niece Pamela Shumila; nephews Brian (Tara) and Allen (Georgette) Wasylyshyn; along with numerous cousins.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Viola and Fred Delmage; niece Tanya Gulchak.
One of Brian’s favourite things, he looked forward to, was the best ever summer and Christmas barbecues at Brent and Margaret’s with the family. He also loved to play cards with Betty and Mike. Mike extended Brian’s competitive streak to fishing for master angler trophies.
Brian was an avid outdoorsman who loved both fishing and hunting. So evolved his interest in taxidermy. He worked at Hawkins Taxidermy until he started his own business, Flexfish specializing in fish reproductions. Fish were only part of his skills in taxidermy to keep him busy until retirement.
Another favourite part of Brian’s life was his annual fall hunting trips. Firstly, in one area of Manitoba with Bob (Ruth) and Les. Secondly, with his old friend and taxidermy buddy Rolly, and son Jesse. Brian was always appreciative and was very thankful for these holidays.
Brian’s kind, gentle and compassionate nature was evident in the daily care of the numerous strays and rescues we adopted and loved throughout our years together.
Cremation has taken place. No formal service will be held as per Brian’s request.
Heartfelt thank you to the Palliative Care team Dr. Demers, Shawn, Sophie and the staff at Riverview Health Centre for the excellent care and compassion shown to Brian.
For those who do desire, please consider a donation in Brian’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba or The Winnipeg Humane Society.
