Obituary of Albano Bettencourt Ferreira-Loureiro
It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of Albano Bettencourt Ferreira Loureiro, 70 years young, on February 18th 2025 in Winnipeg Manitoba.
Albano was born the youngest of four brothers and two sisters, on September 23rd 1954 in São Miguel Portugal to Joaquin and Maria Louriero. He moved to Canada at a young age. He became a Canadian citizen September 22nd 2014.
He has always been a hardworking man; his trade was in construction for many years.
Albano was a devoted father and grandfather to Cara-Maria (two granddaughters Charity and Rachael and son-in-law Corey) and son Elliot Albano.
Albano lived his life to the fullest, he loved camping, making wine and sports. He was a hockey and soccer fan. Albano and his brother/best friend Alcino liked to watch the games together bickering back and forth.
He was someone you can depend on, always had his door and arms open when you needed them. He liked to joke around, make you mad, and then laugh about it.
He loved when his grandchildren came to visit. No matter their age, he always had chocolate milk and strawberries with kisses on their foreheads. The girls would tease him, telling him that they are bigger now and can cut up their own food. But he would laugh and do it anyways saying “it needs to be cut smaller so you wouldn’t choke”.
Albano was able to go back to Portugal to visit with family and see home once again, he enjoyed this trip very much.
He will be missed by many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His celebration of life will be held at Elliot’s residence on Saturday March 8th, 2025 as a come and go from 1pm to 6pm.
