Obituary of Tracy Kim Heppner
Tracy Kim Heppner
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Tracy Kim Heppner on February 8, 2025, at Health Sciences Centre, with family members at her side.
Tracy will forever be remembered by family and friends for her friendly greetings, nonjudgemental character, kind and gentle nature, generous heart, helpful and supportive ways, who would go over and above for others. She could light up a room and was often the go-to person when you needed a laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
It was a natural fit for Tracy to choose nursing where her positive personality and leadership skills shone throughout her 42 year career as a Clinical Resource nurse at St. Boniface Hospital.
Tracy was recognized by the Manitoba Nurses Union with a Yellow Ribbon Award as part of a team which worked to get the Acute Care Surgical Service off the ground - an early intervention program for surgical patients - affectionately named Room 9.
A strong testimonial to her outgoing personality and helpful manner is evident by the various staff members, patients, and families of patients, who kept in touch with Tracy throughout her retirement years.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Tracy was a devoted and loving mother to son Josh. Throughout her adult life she kept in close contact with her siblings, and was a constant companion with best friend Rose.
There was no better way to enjoy summer (her favourite season) than relaxing by Rose’s pool sipping on cool refreshments.
Over the years Tracy gave back to her community through charity support, and holding the leadership position of volunteer Chairperson for nine years at her condominium complex.
Tracy is survived by son Josh; sisters Joanne (Dusty), Joan (Doug); brother-in-law Jim Cassidy; nieces Tara and JJ; nephews Darby, Paul, Joel and Lee.
She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Mildred; sister Lynn; and her many furry friends she dearly loved and cared for over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tracy’s name to Black Bear Rescue Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
