Obituary of Claire Carmel Lecuyer

Claire Carmel Lecuyer (born in Letellier, Manitoba) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 87.

Claire was a devoted wife to her late husband Henri and mother to her children: Richard, Suzanne (Gerry), and Colette (Richard), as well as her daughter-in-law Billie. She was a cherished grandmother to ten grandchildren: Nicole (Patrick), Noëlle (Chris), Richard Jr. (Lauren), David (Bre-Anne), Gillian, Patrick (Becca), Dominic, Stéphanie (Justin), Janelle (Scott), and Catherine (Colin). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Rylee, Remi-Layne, Oaklyn, Kiefer, Tessa, and Leif.

Claire is survived by her brother Léo (Anna), her sisters Blandine and Jacqueline (Roger), her brother-in-law Gerry, as well as countless brothers and sisters-in-law from the Lécuyer family.

She was predeceased by her parents; Camille and Carmélia Aubin; her husband Henri; her son Robert; her brother Denis; her sisters Rita and Gisèle; her parents-in-law Suzanne and Albert Lécuyer; and several brothers and sister-in-law, and niece from the Aubin/Lécuyer families.

Claire enjoyed her retirement in Texas in the winters and spent countless hours tending to her beautiful flowers in the summer. She was an active member of her parish, Précieux-Sang, and found great joy in her faith and community. She had an ability to find beauty in the simplest of things and was a beacon of love and support for all those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, and she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her friends and family. Claire’s gentle and kind spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished. May she rest in peace.

Celebration of Life will take place at Glen Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 10:00 am.
