In Loving Memory of Bert Swischuk

It is with heartfelt sadness that Bert Swischuk, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 15, 2025.

Bert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Veronica, children Curtis, Kerri and Coralee (Derek) and grandsons Austin (Madison), Tanner (Jasmine), Jorden (Cole) and Colton.

Though he could be stubborn, Bert had a kind heart and a gentle soul, always putting the needs of his family before his own.  Always the educator, he used opportunities to teach, guide or lend a hand.

Bert loved dogs, sitting outdoors, gardening, taking road trips and watching hockey or football.  He never passed up a coupon or something sweet for dessert. In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, acquiring collectable items and playing chess.  

He spent many winter months in Arizona, proudly acting as the self-appointed project manager for his eldest daughter’s home renovations. In his later years, he found peace at the cabin in Gimli – a lifelong dream fulfilled.

Many thanks to the staff at Oakview Place and Golden West Lodge for their compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place. A small family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

He will be dearly missed but always in our hearts and memories.
