Obituary of Edith Mona Tweed

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Edith Mona Tweed (nee Grieve) on May 12, 2025, in Winnipeg, MB. She was born on May 14, 1937, in Deloraine, MB to parents Thomas Richard Grieve and Mary Isabella (nee Wallace).

Edith's legacy lives on through her beloved family. She was the cherished mother of Bradley (Colette), Helen (Robert Luce), and Charlene (Zbigniew Klepka). Her love and guidance will forever be treasured by her grandchildren, Christopher Luce (Kimberley), Jason Luce (Amanda), Wayne Tweed, Marden Klepka, and Deveren Klepka, as well as her great-grandchildren, Naomi and Henry Luce. Edith was also a beloved sister to Edward, Elva, Myrtle, Gylen (Faye), Keith (Audrey), and Floyd, and her memory will be forever held dear by her extended family and friends.

Edith was a woman of remarkable strength who, in her younger years enjoyed playing baseball, curling, and bowling. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching sports, playing cards and bingo, listening to country music, and spending time with friends and family. Edith was always up for a road trip, a good laugh, and mischievous pranks with a wonderful smile and joyful laugh.

Thank you to the staff of Extendicare Oakview Place for their compassionate care and for enhancing her quality of life in her final years, keeping her smiling, and supporting her family since December 2018. Their dedication to enhancing her quality of life and keeping her smiling brought immeasurable comfort to Edith and her family, and their kindness will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Edith’s life will be held on Saturday, July 5th in Lauder, Manitoba, where her spirit will be honoured and cherished by all who know her. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm and reception immediately following at the Lauder Hall.
