Douglas Robson

Obituary of Douglas Elwood Robson

With sadness and deep love, we share the passing of Douglas Robson May 6, 2025 at the Selkirk Hospital during the early hour of the morning.

Douglas is survived by his two sons Robert (Heidy) and Benjamin, three grandsons Thomas, Charles and Anthony, brother Harold (Judy), Andrew (Alma) and sister Pamela (Gordon).  As well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Julie and parents Robert and Lorraine.

Doug was a hardworking and entrepreneurial person who spent the majority of career working full time, with many side-jobs to offer extra income to his family.  He will always be remembered as a man who enjoyed travelling and taking road trips to Banff. Right up until he could no longer go, Doug would find himself on one adventure or another.  Doug will always be remembered for his love of the Rocky Mountains, hiking and skiing in Banff. He had a child-like heart in his love for all things Disney and made many trips to Disney World with his family.

Doug was a supportive father and doting Granddad.  He will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind eyes and magnetic smile.  His presence from our lives will be greatly missed and the memories of him will be kept alive through his family.  There will be many more dinners spent at The Old Spaghetti Factory, walks with his beloved dogs and camping trips that will honor stories of Doug (Dad).

We are honoring Doug’s beautiful life and legacy with a celebration of life with the closest of friends and family in his home in East St. Paul.

A special thank you to all the staff who showed great kindness and compassion towards Doug during his stay in the hospital.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba.
