Obituary of Stuart Ronald Nixon
It is with profound heartbreak and sorrow that the family of Stuart Ronald Nixon announce his sudden passing on May 18, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital. Stu was surrounded by his loving family as he left us to be with his heavenly Father.
Stu was born on September 30, 1962, in Redvers, Saskatchewan.
He is survived by his loving wife Connie, daughters Marina (Dean) Ferley and Erica Nixon (Graeme Wilson), grandchildren Cole and Jade Ferley, brother Kevin (Dawn) Nixon and sister Doreen (Ralph) Oswald and (Carol) Nixon-Pauls. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Molly Nixon and his brother, John Nixon Jr. He is sorely missed by many other family members and friends.
Stu’s love for his family was unmatched. He was our rock to lean on and a cherished Papoo to his two grandchildren. Stu also cared deeply for his many friends and often expressed his true gratitude to all.
Stu was a strong coach, educator and mentor to his students. He provided strength, support and guidance to hundreds of students and players on and off the field throughout his career. He loved fiercely and lived boldly. His positive outlook on life was contagious and he worked tirelessly to support those around him. He had a huge impact on everyone’s lives and provided amazing memories that will be treasured forever. A soul like Stu’s comes around once in a lifetime, and the world is a better place because of the impression he made on everyone.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all who loved and supported Stu throughout his lifetime and to everyone who has provided support to our family during this very difficult time. We would also like to express a special thank you to the St. Boniface Hospital staff who compassionately cared for Stu.
The funeral service for Stu will be held at Oasis Church, 940 Elmhurst Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM.

So you will have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
