Obituary of Brenda Joyce Orzech

Brenda Joyce Orzech

(nee Roberts)

1952 – 2025

(John 14:2 KJV)  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

After a lengthy illness and with family at her side, Brenda passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, June 3rd 2025 at Victoria Hospital Winnipeg at the age of 73.

All will deeply miss her, children; Colleen (Darren) Kuhlman and Walter (Carolyn) Orzech, siblings; Donna (Brian) McCuskee, Ellen (Wayne) Reeves, Rosemary (Gord) Curtis and Tim (Vicky) Brydges, grandchildren; Jordan, Kyle, Johnny and Maddie. Brenda is predeceased by; ex-husband Stan, parents; Hortense Marie Brydges, Glen Brydges, brother Glen (Danny) Brydges and nephew Damien Hiebert.

Brenda was born in Hamilton, Ontario on January 16, 1952. She moved to Winnipeg, attended primary school in Charleswood, Winnipeg and later graduated from R.B. Russell School. Brenda moved to Gimli, Manitoba to work in the Aviation sector. She met and married Stan Orzech and then raised their family on their farm in Finns, Manitoba.

Brenda was very proud of her children, Colleen and Wally, as well as her adopted daughter, Rosemary. We all have very precious memories of Brenda and Stan hosting weekend-long family celebrations at the lakeside farm. Brenda enjoyed the family, beach, raising chickens, gardening, playing Monopoly and found time to volunteer with a local Brownies (Embers) group.

After her marriage break-up, Brenda and her children lived in Gimli, where she worked at Chicken Chef until they all moved to Winnipeg.

Most recently, persistent health concerns over the years necessitated her residing in assisted living. Injuries from falls required hospitalization and she was unable to recover.

(2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV)  We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Celebration of Life will be held on June 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Albright Church 415 Maxwell King Dr, East Saint Paul, MB R2E 0C8

Pastor Paul Sinclair presiding.
