Obituary of Vera (Verona) Rossin

With deep and heavy sadness, we announce the passing of Vera Rossin on May 19, 2024 at the great age of 92.

Vera was born on a farm near Norquay, Saskatchewan to the late John and Helen (Pandich) Kuzma on June 1, 1931.

Leaving to mourn are her son Darrel and his wife Cindy; grandchildren Tanya (Jarret), Lauren (Charles), Jordan; great granddaughter Kayla; brother John (Annette) Kuzma; in-laws, Len and Katie Pokrant; Geoff (Carmel Levesque) Pokrant; Julia (son Leo) Pokrant; Curtis Pokrant and special neighbour Diane Letwin.

Vera was pre-deceased by her parents John and Helen Kuzma; stepmother Pauline Kuzma; brother Mike and wife Helen Kuzma; in-laws George and Margaret Clark; sister Joy and Stan Gilleta; nephew Rick Gilleta; stepsister Pauline Smith.  Vera will be greatly missed by many friends and extended family members.

Vera retired from Boeing in 2000 after 14 years and prior to that worked at Ray O Vac. Vera was very creative and enjoyed drawing, embroidery and various other crafts especially with her grandchildren. She was an avid host and never allowed a person to leave her table hungry. Vera was a kind soul, loved visiting, storytelling and found enjoyment in going to the casino with friends and family later in retirement. She enjoyed anything politics, cheering for the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers and most especially being a Grammy/Great Grammy.

Vera enjoyed growing raspberries, tomatoes, rhubarb and flowers in her gardens. She enjoyed making and sharing her cooking specialties borscht, pierogis, and cabbage rolls. Vera took great pride in being a home owner.

She had a determination and devised well laid out plans when faced with life’s challenges. She valued and appreciated every moment that family and friends shared with her. Vera was a wonderful inspiration to her family.

We enjoy and find peace with the image of Vera reuniting with her friends and family who have pre-deceased her.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to your favorite charity would be welcomed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Prince of Peace Church, 930 Winakwa Rd. at 3 PM on June 22, 2024
