Obituary of Roland Joseph Johnson

Roland Joseph Johnson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at the end of a lengthy illness on July 16, 2024, age 76 at Jocelyn House.

Born May 5, 1948, to Richard and Eugenie Johnson, Roland was a very skilled and hard-working man who had expertise in many aspects of construction. He lived for his work.

He also had a love for life, enjoying the outdoors, weekend visits to Gimli to see friends and of course, deer hunting.

More so, he had a love for family, spending his spare time between the country homes of his two sons.

Family was very important to Roland, and he is survived by his sons, Jeff (Heather) Penner, Greg (Rhonda) Penner; grandchildren Skylar, Lucas, Riley, Justin, Scott, and Jimmy; as well as great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Marie, Morris and Victor and many nieces, and nephews.

Roland was predeceased by his mother and father and siblings Paul, Adelard, Tommy, Eva, Cecile and Jeannette.

He will be missed dearly by his many friends and past colleges whom he met throughout the years.

In following Roland’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

We ask those who knew and loved him to celebrate him and his life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Cancer Care Manitoba and/or Jocelyn House Hospice.
