Wayne Sanford

Obituary of Wayne Cleveland Sanford

Wayne was born in Cogmagun, N.S. in 1951.  He moved to Winnipeg in 1971 following in the footsteps of his three older brothers.

Everyone loved Wayne!  He was an awesome, happy person who always made someone laugh.  He was the best uncle, brother, friend anyone could have.  He was a star to us all.

Wayne leaves behind his two brothers, Gerald and Gary (Brenda), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Fraser and Doris, sisters, Shirley and Iva, brother Owen, and sisters-in-law, Pauline and Blanche.

Wayne always offered his time to you. He enjoyed volunteering at Faraday School activities especially playing Santa.  Greeting the kids as they went by the house on their morning walk was a highlight of his day.

Wayne loved cracking jokes and singing and was always there if you needed to talk to someone.  His co-workers said you could always tell which trailer Wayne was working in because you could hear him singing or yodelling.  We will miss his friendly smirks at family gatherings.

Wayne would always keep in touch with his family afar and call them on a regular basis. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Bombers and the Jets.  His dog, Cujo was his best friend for many years. He will sadly be missed but never forgotten by so many.

We love you Wayne!

The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during Wayne's last weeks.

Cremation has taken place.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
