Obituary of Susan Kathleen Richardson

It’s with great sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of Susan Kathleen Richardson, on July 16, 2024.

Sue was born November 2, 1962 in Clacton-on-Sea Essex, England. She moved to Winnipeg with her family in April 1975. Sue finished high school in 1981 in Charleswood, Winnipeg. In 1980, Sue met Mike, married and had two sons, Deven and Tyler.

She worked at the Whole Sale Club for 17 years, was a hair dresser and kept her house bustling! Not only with her boys and their friends but the many kids Sue cared for during the day and kept out of trouble with before and after school care.

Sue was an amazing seamstress creating unique clothing for herself and her family. She even made her own stunning wedding dress!

Not only was she the most dedicated fan of her son's sports but always took on the role of 'team manager' keeping Coach Mike organized. It was always a family affair with her and Mike willing to volunteer countless hours to ensure the boys’ teams ran smoothly. She was always so proud of her boys and their achievements.

She loved her music! Often after a few pints, dance parties broke out in the kitchen with Sue demanding others get involved. She was always the life of the party making sure everyone had a pint in their hand, a dance partner and a smile on their face. Sue had a wonderful wacky sense of humour and was able to laugh throughout her struggles. She was the ultimate warrior right to the end!! Rarely complaining about her pain, illness or losing her passion for the fun things in life. She carried on smiling, laughing and enjoying time with friends and family.

Special thanks to Deven, Tyler, Georgia, Leigh, Karen, Deb, Gayle, Denise, Suzie, Carla, Marilyn and Tom the pharmacist who rallied around Sue during her relentless health battles which began in 1989.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 35 years Mike; sons Deven and Tyler; sister Georgia (Jack); brother Frank (Shelly); nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Sue is predeceased by her parents Josie and Henry Rice.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

In keeping with Sue’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family celebration of life.
