Gordon Pearson

Obituary of Gordon Pearson

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Gordon Pearson, aged 86 years, on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. Boniface Hospital.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lillian, son Paul (Lisa) and his grandson, Chase, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Ida and Paul, and his brothers Art and Ray.

Gord was a dedicated bookkeeper for Javex Limited and the Winnipeg Cold Storage Co. until his retirement around age 50. He had a nak for investments, savings and numbers that really helped him and Lillian enjoy many years of retirement.

His favorite things in life were regular Sunday mornings golfing with his brother-in-law, Ron and his weekly outings with the guys for bowling nights at Chateau Lanes. He was a big Blue Bombers fan as well as always keeping track of the Jets. It was common for him to watch the replay of the same game the next day to make sure he didn’t miss anything.

If he wasn’t watching his teams in the last number of years, he loved catching the old movies with John Wayne or some old black and white movies that he had watched numerous times before. He also had a strange obsession with playing solitaire on the computer and would keep us updated on the thousands of games that he had played.

In lieu of flowers, please take the opportunity if you like, to donate to any charity of your choice.

There will be a small private family celebration of Gordon’s life in the future.
