Obituary of Sharon Ann Tomiuk

Sharon Ann Tomiuk age 65, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away in her home on September 16, 2024 after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Sharon was born in Winnipeg to Daniel Tomiuk and Helen Tomiuk (nee Gushulak) on March 1, 1959.

She graduated high school from Murdock Mackay Collegiate in 1977.

Sharon had a typical teenage celebrity crush on Donny Osmond, her sister Susan reminisces. She worked as a Lifegaurd and swimming instructor for City of Winnipeg into the 1980’s. She found comfort in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, her Ukrainian heritage and had a love for music. She took pride working various positions for the Canada Revenue Agency in her later years until she retired in 2024. Sharon preferred a private life. During her final years she shared time with her youngest sister Donna. They would prepare meals together and enjoyed watching Bomber and Jets games on tv.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Crystal Millis (Eric) and son Erin Cook Jr (Kat).  She leaves her sisters Susan Sigurdson and Donna Tomiuk. She also leaves her grandchildren Evin, Madison and Amelia Cook, Olivia and Corbin Millis. Her nephew Geordie (Melissa) Sigurdson. As well as many cousins. Sharon is predeceased by her parents Daniel and Helen Tomiuk and her nephew Kevin Sigurdson.

Cremation has occurred. There will be no funeral service.

Memorial donations have been made to Main Street Project and Siloam Mission.  The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of her Health Care Providers.
