Obituary of John Fleming Parrott

I fly... September 20, 1946 - January 4, 2020 John Fleming Parrott passed away in his sleep on the 16 year anniversary of his accident. He lived a wild life that both provoked and inspired those he came in contact with. JP embraced his passion for skydiving. He enjoyed a lifetime total of 2,302 jumps with 50 jumps on his 50th birthday that raised funds for Big Brothers. After his accident, John personally developed and funded a program that assisted new skydivers with their licenses through the Canadian Sport Parachuting Association. Our Great Canadian North was a penchant throughout life that John celebrated and supported by knowledge-sharing and working in our breathtaking, heritage-rich North. Survived by three sisters: Diane (partner Ross), Connie (daughter Sarah), and Susan (partner Gordon); son Quinn (partner Keri, sons Nick & Matthias), daughter Korri (partner Steve, daughters Vienna & Elizabeth), and son Eric (& children); and many other supportive, caring friends and family (James W, Brian & Candace, Jeff & Michelle, Bernice F, Jim & Gertie, Tannis, Vi & Liz, Jules, Justin, Glaiza). Memorial service/internment are tentatively planned for September 11-14 2020 at Brandon Hills Cemetery with reception following in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, to honour John’s board position with Community Respite Services, donations made to the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities (SMD) are greatly appreciated.
