Obituary of Gerald Roberts Sanford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald, who departed this life on December 22, 2024 at 12:02 AM at the age of 80.

Gerald was a beloved Father, and Grandfather to family and a cherished friend to many.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories.  He will be sadly missed by his children, Gerry and Brenlee, along with his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Cole, Aaron, also his brother Gary and sister-in-law Brenda, who were a great comfort to him in his final days.

Dad loved working on his vehicles, garden and helping any and all who asked for help, he was a consistent presence in everyone's lives who took time for him, he loved nothing better than spending hours in his garage showing his grandson Cole how to fix anything and everything with patience and he was not above direction how it should be "fixed right the first time"

Dad spent several years working as the head caretaker for the #1 school division, a job he absolutely loved, and was happy to retire after 25 years.

A special thank you to his son Gerry, as he was dad's caretaker in his final years battling cancer.

Our thank you to the wonderful care Dad received at St Boniface Hospital palliative care unit.

Dad is finally at peace and with his beloved wife Pauline.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will proceed in the new year as per his wishes, (this site will be updated when confirmation of the date is known).
