Obituary of Edward Smith

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Edward Smith on Friday December 27, 2024 at the age of 67 years, after a short battle with cancer.  

He was predeceased by his loving parents Norman Smith (2006); Jo-Ann Smith (2003); and brother-in-law William Crosby (2019).

He is survived by his children, James Smith and Chase Staples both of Winnipeg; his sister Kimberly (William) Crosby, Debra (Robert) Tycholiz, Kathleen (Mike) Wuorinen and Melanie (Greg) Olson; brother Norman (Rose) Smith; Aunt Margaret Smith; his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many cousins and many wonderful friends.

As per Ed’s request, cremation has taken place and a small service in his memory will be held at a later date. (to be determined).

A special thank you to Cancer Care Manitoba and 7 Oaks Hospital for the care and compassion given.

An even bigger thank you to his friends Mike, Lance and Steve for the visits, that I am sure Ed enjoyed.
