Obituary of Cathryn (Carrie) Keicher

Peacefully, with her sister and brother-in-law by her side, Cathryn (Carrie) Laura Keicher, born on April 1, 1969, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on January 3, 2025, at Riverview Health Centre.

Carrie was predeceased by her loving parents, Frank and Betty Keicher, and is survived by her sister, Carla, brother-in-law Jerry, nephew Darryl, Darryl's wife Kristy, and their son Christopher.  

Carrie's life was a testament to resilience and strength. Throughout her life, she faced numerous challenges with unwavering courage and grace. Despite the obstacles she encountered, Carrie's spirit remained unbroken, and she continued to inspire those around her with her heart-warming smile.

Special thanks are extended to the care provided for the past 20 years by SPIKE Inc at Horton House and to her long-time care-provider, Patricia.  The dedication and support offered by the staff at Horton House played an integral role in enhancing Carrie's quality of life and providing her with a sense of security and belonging.

Additionally, the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at HSC ER, GA4 & GH4, who provided Carrie with the best medical attention possible during the last 15 months. Their commitment to her well-being did not go unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.

In her final days, Carrie was surrounded by the kind and compassionate care of the staff at the Palliative Care unit at Riverview Health Centre. Their unwavering support and empathy provided comfort to Carrie and her family during a difficult time.

Carrie's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who were touched by her presence.

In honor of Carrie's life, a Celebration of Life will be held at the New Apostolic Church, 1755 Taylor Ave. on Thursday, January 30 at 1:00 pm.  Rev. Fred Yaeger will officiate.  

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Carrie's memory.

Carrie's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.  Rest in peace, dear Carrie.
