Obituary of Stanley Joseph Yaworek Jr.

Stanley Joseph Yaworek Jr., age 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the cabin in Gull Lake on March 10, 2020 following a year-long battle with cancer. Stanley was born March 24, 1954 in Pine Falls, Manitoba to Violet Thomas and Stanley Yaworek Sr. He is the oldest of seven. Stanley is survived by his mother Violet; his children Devon, Vanessa and Erin; his partner Suzanne; his siblings Gerald, Gary, Brenda, Joan, Elliot; and his son-in-law Glenn. He is predeceased by his father Stanley Sr. and his brother Larry. His creativity influenced his daughters immensely with his cooking, life like paintings, love for writing poetry and short stories and his impressive birthday cards. Stan had a way of making something amazing out of just a little, and his gratitude in life gave him the gift of simple happiness and generosity. Stan was very artistic and was a gifted guitar player. He played lead guitar in bands in his early twenties, making headlines and traveling. He was a free spirit, which led him to see hundreds of music concerts around North America. Stan was a gifted and loving caregiver. He influenced many lives during his years as a live-in counselor in a group home for trouble teens, provided compassion and joy for the mentally ill and gave support during end of life senior care. British Colombia held a special place in his heart. He spoke passionately about his explorations on the west coast and as per his request will have his ashes spread into the Pacific Ocean so he can continue to travel the world. Doesn’t that sound romantic. The family would like to thank the nurses at Cancer Care in Selkirk, visitors and family members who supported Stan and the family throughout this time. In honor of Stan, keep your creativity alive and nurture your childlike nature. Due to circumstances, the Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
