Hi there, these are the memories that I hold dear. I decided to go to Canada to work on my English so I went to Manitoba University. This decision gave me an opportunity to meet my best friend Audrey for the first time. We first met at her clothes shop in Winnipeg. I visited her shop, and we enjoyed chatting. It was about thirty years ago. Her husband Dennis took me to Clear Lake to have the experience of water-biking. It was my first time so I enjoyed it very much. She invited me to her house and we ate hamburgers together. It was one of my best memories while I was in Canada.
Several years later, I visited her house with my sister when I was 27 years old. I decided to see her family and wanted to say thank you because we had kept in touch for about 7 years.
Since we met, we had corresponded for about 30 years altogether. Right until her passing. The age difference between us was around 30 years but she always treated me like a friend. She always sent me a lot of photos with her letters. I always looked forward to hearing from her very much.
Here is another memory.
I visited her for the 2nd time. I went to her clothes shop and was invited to her house. That time, I was with my friend Yoko. Mrs. Audrey and Dennis welcomed us and they showed us their cute dogs and we chatted and ate hamburgers together. The third time, I visited her house 7 years later, I decided to see her family with my sister. I only bought plane tickets. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed but she waited for us at the airport for 6 hours. She was so kind to us and drove us for 3 hours at midnight. She must have been very, very tired. She always gave us a big smile.
We ended up staying at Cindy's as she is a part of Audrey's staff at the shop. We arrived at Cindy’s house and we had a great time there.
Meeting Audrey and Dennis in Canada made my image of Canada seem like a very special and loving country. It makes me so sad because even though I sent her a letter, I cannot receive one back from her. I will always have a lot of love for her.
We'll never know how many letters have been exchanged between us so far. I will always cherish the letters she sent me as they were so loving and warm. They mean so much to me. Even though I sometimes forgot to send her greeting cards for Christmases and birthdays, she would never ever forget to send them to me. I thank her from the bottom of my heart that she always thought of me! These were some of my fondest memories of Audrey and I thank you for reading them. Audrey will remain in my heart forever.

I had only gotten to known Audrey for the past two years, while visiting my mom at their care home. Audrey was a very kind, gentle woman who obviously loved people, which was obvious in her interactions with others. Her smile often made my day. I also am blessed to have gotten to know her sister Blanche, daughter Nancy and grandsons Marc and Eric. Their devotion to Audrey spoke volumes about the great relationships they had. My condolences to the entire family.

We did not know Audrey well, but we really enjoyed visiting with her at Barry & Charisses’s home, especially at many Christmas Eve dinners. She was a lovely lady, always full of fun and so very warm-hearted. Sincere condolences to all her family and friends.

Audrey was such a great hostess after many of our golf games at Clear Lake. Denny would say: Aud has prepared sandwiches for us after golf and we’d all congregate above Summer Fashions and have our (his) favourite grilled cheese Sandwiches which of course Audrey made with great delight! We will miss her (and Denny) but be thankful they were in our lives.
Jack, Bob, John, Pat, and Orville!
