So very sad to hear about Denis' passing. It's really hard to come up with the words that would express our heartfelt feelings. Denis was way too young. Denis was quite the character. Denis was Denis. We had some really fun times while he lived here in BC. Otherwise, I spent more time with Michael, when I was growing up. We're thinking of you all & hope memories of Denis will carry us over these rather sad times. Take care. With love & sympathy, Dorothy & Blake Morris & Aunty Fernande Siemens

We last saw Denis at his dad's 90th birthday. He looked healthy, he seemed fine. Hard to believe he's gone.
Our sincerest condolences to all in the family.

Denis Lavigne was the first peraon i met when i started at Maple leaf, at firat i thought man this guys crazy, laughing and joking around and making work fun. No matter what kind of day we were having he was always upbeat about it. He talks everyday about the love he had for his family, how great his wife was, how proud he was of his son, and his grandkids. Man did he ever love them all, I could tell and hear it in his voice see it in his eyes.
He alao talked alot of flying and soending all that timw with him in the trucks or on the radio i felt like i coild hop in a plane and go. Thats how detailed his explanations were. We both ended up leaving Maple leaf only to be reunited at Gee Tee Holdings where I spent 2 years working again with him.
Denis, you will always have a special place in my heart, you were like a brother to me. May you forever rest in peace, watch over your family like you always did. Thank you dor letting me into the small part of your life. Rest easy big guy.

I grew up with Denis, attending school together starting in grade 3. Going to a small catholic school meant that we had a small tight group that spent lots of time and effort finding mischief in many places.
I just watched the movie Stand By Me, eliciting memories of our group swimming, biking, attending cadets, playing by the river when we shouldn't, St Vital Park, the Dak, the Bird, parties, and all the exploits that are part of coming of age.
There was an incident involving Denis's 57 (or so) Buick that is especially memorable, and stupid! Boy, we had alot of fun.
Unfortunately we lost touch after high school, but I often think of the guys from St Eugene School, including Denis, Henri, Remi, Gilles, Alain and Guy.
I'm very sorry for your family's loss.
