Obituary of Janet Suddaby

Our dear Aunt Janet passed away peacefully just short of her 99th birthday on October 28th at St Boniface Hospital after a short illness. Janet was born December 16, 1921 in Winnipeg and lived on Harbison Avenue as a member of the Millar Clan. After her marriage in 1967 to Gerry, she moved to Hartney, Manitoba and soon became an involved member of that community. She was school secretary for 19 years where she was respected by both staff and students. After Gerry’s death she returned to Winnipeg. She is predeceased by her parents Joe and Janet Millar; her husband Gerry; her brothers Stewart, Joe, Archie, Tom and Andy; and sister Margaret Wilson and their spouses; as well as a nephew and niece. She is survived by her sister Ruth McKnight; sister-in-law Kay Millar; and 18 nieces and nephews and their families. Aunt Janet was a wonderful, kind and generous aunt who will be greatly missed by us all. Our heartfelt thanks to Cathy and Stewart Clark for all they did for their great aunt. Many thanks to all who visited Auntie and were so good to her. Sincere thanks to THORVALDSON CARE CENTER for the wonderful care they gave her. It was her home away from home. An internment of her ashes will take place in Souris, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to North Kildonan United Church or a charity of your choice.
