I’ve been delivering mail to Gary and Joyce for over 10 years - my first memory is actually of Joyce admonishing me because I was walking around her lawn instead of across it! My other memory is of Gary rambling down the neighborhood streets on his scooter with two dogs, then one dog, in tow. I am deeply saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. He was always cheerful when I was by, and had time for a chat. My sincerest condolences to Joyce and family.

I would like to send my condolences to the Miller family. Gary was a true mentor to me as I entered the fire service at # 1 station. He could always be found with his pipe in one hand and a chamois in the other always tending to his favourite pumper "411". Gary was always upbeat, friendly and eager to share a story. He will be missed.

Gary and I met late in life but we were very close, he was like the brother I wish I had in my life. We shared the same pain and understood each other. Any time I hear a fire engine go by I know they have an angel riding with them, my friend Gary miller

Our condolences go out to the Miller family , he will surly be missed in the neighbourhood. He would always stop and yell out , James are you retired yet and pass on his words of wisdom. Talk about politics, his experiences as a First responder . I had a chance to know a first responder who cared for people and his animals . He would travel valley view drive and the community of heritage park. A man who would comment on his firs station, the men who he worked with and his guidance as a captain. I will surely miss his electric scooter and his PIC walking along side . God bless and RIP .....
I can not put into words the magnitude of Gary’s impact on his community and his friends . We are saddened to hear of his passing today !

Gary was a great person and a special friend. I will always remember him in happiness and laughter, and for his unwavering support over the years. It was our love of cats and dogs that brought us together. He's at peace now with all his fur babies and kitties. All of us who were blessed to have known him will truly miss him.
For Joyce, Tamara, Jason and Gary's sons, I hope that time will bring comfort to your hearts. Gary will always be with you, in your hearts and in the many beautiful memories you have of him. Joyce, don't hesitate to call if you need someone to talk to. Love, Marie-France
