Obituary of Jeanne Flora Pickering

Jeanne Pickering passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 28, 2021. All that knew her loved her larger than life personality, her sense of humor, infectious laugh and she was always the smile that lit up a room. Jeanne will be greatly missed by her life partner Rick; son Kelly; daughters Kim and Carrie (Angelo); grandchildren Samantha, Derek, Brittany, Heather, Marina, Shaila, Farren and Angelina; and her sisters and brother who live in Saskatchewan. Every summer Jeanne would head out to her home province of Saskatchewan and visit her brother Gordon and his wife Kathy and then head to Dore Lake for some fantastic fishing and lots of laughs with her sister Vicky. She really enjoyed the long holiday at the lake with her sister Vicky and beloved dog Lily. Jeanne loved spending Friday evening bingo with the fantastic people of Anavets Assiniboia Unit #283 Winnipeg. She also loved going to her niece’s house (Billie-Jean) as much as she could just for a loving visit. Jeanne fought hard with Cancer but could no longer fight this horrible disease. We are grateful for the love and care she received from the MB Cancercare team and the Palliative care team. Special recognition goes to Nurse Mary Rose Operana; NP Kristie Morydz (Cancercare); and Dr. Budahan from Thoracic Clinic at HSC, we could not have fought this journey without your special team members. Cremation has taken place with no funeral planned. If you would wish donations can be made to the Cancercare Foundation of Manitoba in Jeanne's name. Mom: I will still go to bingo for you and win big! I will also go fishing with Aunty Vicky in memory of you. You were my best friend and I will honor and cherish you forever.
