We feel privileged to have known Sudarshan for more than 50 years - first, during a two-year teaching stint in Kampala, Uganda when we were his neighbors, and then, as our careers and lives changed, with us in the U.S. and him in Canada. This was one man who could negotiate between cultures and religions and remain a dignified and upright human being with all he met. Thank you to Posy for her steadfast love over 42 years! We remember all of the family with our thoughts in your grief at losing such a man.

It was my fortunate coincidence in life to meet Sudarshan as a colleague in 1972, when he was a new arrival in Canada. Over early months we talked and shared views on life and the universe. By the end of the year we had become close friends, and regarded each other as brothers. That relationship continued (and continues). Sudarshan was one of the most wonderful human beings, and his love, light and peace will far outlive his Earthly existence.
Posy, please accept condolences and love from Jackie and me.
Your friends, Malcolm and Jackie

Sid am sorry to hear you are not with us here on Earth any more. I will miss playing scrabble with you, A very intelligent and resourceful player you challenged me always to play my best even though you won most of the time. I hope you are at peace now and playing scrabble on the playgrounds in heaven! My sincere virtual hugs and sympathies go to you Posy and the rest of the Varma family. Your friend Lisa Sears

Posy,
I was sad to hear of Sid's passing but I know he is at peace. He fought to stay with us but at the end he couldn't carry on. He really wanted SCRABBLE to start up agin so he could see us all. He was such a special man and will be sadly missed. If you need someone to talk to - please give me a call.
Take care

Sudarshan Kumar Varma was one of the first directors of India School of Dance, Music & Theatre Inc. in the 1980s. As a student and connoisseur of music, he enjoyed and supported the performing arts in Manitoba. His wisdom and guidance over the years, his warm smile, and artistic hand-penned letters and cards will be treasured by his friends and family, as exquisite souvenirs of a life well lived.
As a community, we were blessed to have Sudarshan Kumar Varma in our midst.

I'm so sorry. My heartfelt condolences. Uncle brought so much joy to us. He was always welcoming, kind hearted. The most selfless and saintly person I have ever known. When ever we met, he was there to listen, and was supportive. His endearing smile was enough to uplift your spirits. The whole family will miss uncle so much. It breaks our hearts, but we will always cherish the loving memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My gracious guide in kindness, just the thought of you has always brought a smile to my face. Very few people can make such a powerful impact on others in so short a time, but you taught me so much. The gentle and compassionate way you treated all people inspired me to be a better human being; to this day, you are the person whose behaviour I wish to emulate and which serves as the template when structuring my own. Thank you for your magnanimity and wisdom, for your courage in the face of adversity, and for teaching me so much, simply by being your wonderful, gentle, self. As Gita and I like to say, you are the perfect gentleman. I will miss you so much. I love you, my other “Dad”

Words cannot justify the Devine nature of my lifelong buddy Mama for the past 88 years. Our Guru Pundit Satyapalji taught us life’s Karmic essentials. Sudarshan and Narinderji lived with us during their schooling days. We stayed together in London during our University years. We have spent some good times interacting with each other and all our friends. The highlight was when Saroj and I had the pleasure of lntroducing him to dear Posy. A blissful, loving married life followed for 42 years. He will be with us for ever ❤️

Sadly our dear Sudarshan/Ladoo Mamaji has passed away but has left behind an amazing legacy of loving everyone. He was a happy gentle and blessed soul always smiling and will always be loved and never forgotten by his family and friends.
Mamaji was a professional architect and had articulate hand writing and drawings and wrote his own songs and poems.
Mamaji was my late mother’s best friend and partner in crime as they grew up together in East Africa. Particularly touching was a poem he sang for her on her wedding day which read ‘ Raj...Raj tu Raj kari jeethe tu jahin’ which translates as ‘Raj... may you Reign and be forever happy wherever you may go’
We pray for his departed soul to rest in eternal peace and for God to help guide and protect him onto his onward journey. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti
