It is with great sadness that I write about our dear mother Elizabeth. Mom had been ill over the past few years with many health struggles. Her strength and determination amazed everyone as she battled through most of those challenges.
For the past 5 years my sister and brother undertook the immense responsibility of her care. They did an amazing job. The sacrifices that my sister Pam her husband Norm, daughter Sabrina and my brother Barrett made have been greatly appreciated by myself and Mom. She said many times that she loved and was grateful for the care and attention they gave her.
Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg, she meet and married Frank and together had 2 children .After they parted she traveled the country with our father Wally. From their union they produced 4 children.
She made her home in Ontario and Vancouver for several years before parting ways with our father and finally settling back in Winnipeg where she resided until her passing.
Mom enjoyed dancing and continued to do so until she was no longer able. Her love of music however continued throughout her entire life. She was a passionate reader of all types of literature and always enjoyed discussing her latest read.
She enjoyed watching musicals, especially Janette Macdonald & Nelson Eddie. Mom had a beautiful singing voice herself, even though she was too modest to admit it.
Mom loved joining in and playing games at any family get together, whether it be cards board games or dice she enjoyed them all and her laugh (we would call her “cackle”) was infectious. One of the many things that will be truly missed about her.
Mom was a huge animal lover and in turn they all loved her back. It probably helped that she would feed them all under the table. I think all the pets ate better when Mom was visiting
May peace and serenity follow you as you reunite with those loved ones embracing you in their welcoming arms.
I will love you always and shall always feel your love
Patty
