I had the pleasure of being one of the nurses to care for Shirley while she was at Golden West.
She had a wonderful sense of humour and a smile that could light up a room.

To Mel and family, our sincere condolences in the loss of Shirley. Although it’s been many years since we lived on Newark, we have fond memories of those times. My late husband Craig Gilchrist and Shirley shared the same birthday and would often call each other on their special day. Mel was also his baseball coach. Shirley was a lovely lady.
