Dave was our son Craig's mentor and teacher when they worked together at West Hawk Lake. More recently, Dave did a lot of work for my brother and I at our cottages, also at West Hawk. He was not just a gifted tradesman but a fine person as well. We became good friends and we will miss him. Our sincere condolences to Darlene and to Dave's children. Tom and Debbie Goodman.

I never had the opportunity to meet him but working with Darlene she mentioned him quite often. I remember that she was so excited for the weekends. I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like one in a million. Love always Darlene.

I met Dave only once when we dropped you off at West Hawk so you could be with him for the weekend, but I feel I truly knew him through your eyes. You spoke about him all the time at work with laughter and love. He was your rock; your other half and I know how much you love and miss him. Darlene, I am terribly sorry for your loss. Just remember he is still here watching over you, and you will meet again. I am here for you always. My condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.
Love always, Heather

I’ll always have a part of uncle in my house. He helped me learn to do drywall and taping and sanding. That room is the best looking in my house! Always think of him going in there.
I’m sure he has left pieces of him everywhere. With so many talents!! Gonna miss you uncle! You live on through memories and the work you have done for many ppl family and friends.
Rest easy, until we meet again ❤️

I'm so glad that I saw David and Darlene at the cousins reunion. We had such a good talk and a good hug. He was always interested in what was going on in everyone's life. He will be missed by everyone who know him.

Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
