Obituary of Thomas Andrew Watson
A Celebration of Life will be held for Tom at Northwood Community Centre, 1415 Burrows Avenue, starting at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022.
Tom passed away peacefully on June 14, 2021 at the age of 66.
He married his soulmate Marilyn who he shared twelve happy years of marriage with. Tragically, Marilyn and daughter Elisa died in childbirth. He is also predeceased by his parents Richard (Dick) and Mary; and brother Sam.
Tom is survived by sisters Julie (Rudie) and Susan (Ken); sisters-in-law Kathleen and Linda (and Linda's husband Rick, who followed in death in July 2021); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He grew up in West St. Paul and took over the family boat business from his late parents.
Tom was a second generation boat builder. He was one of the last boat repair and restoration specialist of wood boats. He was known at the Royal Manitoba Yacht Club, Gimli, Lake of the Woods and Saskatchewan as “the boat guy”. He could fix what others thought was unfixable with ease and expertise. Family, friends and neighbours called on him when they needed assistance.
Tom was a gentle giant who would help anyone who crossed his path. If he considered you a friend, you were his friend for life.
Tom was known for his calm demeanor, appetite and conversations. His nieces and nephews knew him as the fun Uncle.
We would like to thank his neighbours for everything they have done for him.
In lieu of flowers, in Tom’s memory donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place.
