Obituary of Duane Ricky Boyer
It is with great sadness, suddenly on June 17, 2021, Duane Ricky Boyer passed away surrounded by his family.
Duane was survived by his wife (Darlene); children Dan (Audrey), Carrie and Danielle (Kyle); and brothers Lawrence (Linda) and Darryl.
Papa will be missed by his grandchildren Mackenzie, Jaxson, Hailey, Harlee, and Parker. Duane loved his grandchildren with his whole heart, and in return they all adored him.
Duane will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as friends.
Predeceased by his mother (Beth); father (Richard); and sister (Betty Lynne).
Duane was born on March 18, 1953 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Hockey played a large role in Duane’s life. He spent many years at the rink volunteering on several hockey teams in the St. Boniface and River East Areas.
A jack of all trades, Duane was able to fix, build and create many things. He always seemed to be working on one project or another.
Duane loved the outdoors. Some of his favourite activities included, but were not limited to, golfing and fishing.
What Duane lacked in leg length, he made up for with his huge heart. Known as Papa Boyer to many, his death will leave a large void in the lives of numerous people.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion.
As per Duane’s request, there will not be a formal funeral service.
A small family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
