Obituary of Diane Gale Gallo
Diane Gale Gallo received her angel’s wings on Saturday, June 19, 2021, as she passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Her memory lives on with her husband Pietro; son James (Tiffany), daughter Amy (Jordan); granddaughters Giacinta, Hannah, Jordyn, and Carmela and grandson Karsen; as well as many brothers-in law and sisters-in-law; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Diane is predeceased by her son Peter Gallo; her parents Lloyd and Kathy Lemke; and her brothers Donald and Ken Lemke.
Diane was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 15, 1954 and spent her youth in the provincial capital where she would later meet her husband and where her two sons were born. Her family would then move to Weyburn, Saskatchewan for a brief time before settling in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan where her family spent 20 years and welcomed her daughter.
Diane had a passion for helping others, which was her driving force to attend the University of Regina, where she received a Masters degree in Social Work in the early 1990’s. For the next ten years, she dedicated her professional life to helping those in need.
During her time in Strasbourg, she worked alongside her husband at the two restaurants that they owned, Strasbourg Family Restaurant and Rowans Ravine Restaurant. It was there where she spread joy and laughter with her many friends in the community.
Later in life, Diane and her family moved back to Winnipeg where she was able to spend more time with her family and friends.
Diane loved her family and her greatest joy was to be surrounded by those she loved. She was a strong-willed and passionate woman who had a positive impact on anyone who was blessed to be able to spend time with her.
She will be dearly missed.
