Heartfelt condolences to the Tyefisher Family. Daryl worked at Trails West Inn in Brandon as our chef. I will forward this sad news to his Aunt Cecilina (Cece) Lockhart who recently celebrated her 94th birthday in Camrose Alberta.

Our condolences to Daryl’s family and friends. We were cousins but grew up in different cities. I have heard so many good things about Daryl from his sister and my nephew. He left us far too young.

My sincere condolences to the Tyefisher family.
I’ve known Daryl since the late 80’s when we became good friends.
There were always many phone calls and late nights out in Winnipeg. Those were the days.
Rest In Peace Daryl, you will be missed.

It was an honour to cook with Daryl. He shared great memories of him cooking up food and taking it up North for his family. He taught be a few things… and of course I tried to teach him a few….when he let me…

Daryl and I first met at a Gay bar in Winnipeg, we were strangers until I started talking about visiting my Grandmother Iin Selkirk. I think I mentioned her name “Elsie” and the discovery was made, we were second cousins. A small world indeed. We became close friends after that. I didn’t have a lot of friends at the time and he introduced me to his circle of friends and family. Several friendships and relationships were made and I am very grateful for that. We both loved going to Patricia beach with friends, I had so much fun that I didn’t mind the sand in my sandwiches. He taught me a lot about cooking, for example “ never use a fork when cooking steak”, and to remove the shells when eating shrimp. He wasn’t picky, he would make a gourmet meal one day, then have Kraft dinner the next. “Presentation is everything “ was his motto. We’d have long chats on the phone in the winter months when it was too cold to go out, we could talk for hours. Too many good memories to mention. We had our ups and downs as you do with family and friends, but mostly ups. I was so happy and envious that he was able to retire a short time ago. We both looked forward to him visiting me in Toronto. I thought of him as more of a friend than family, I will miss him dearly.

I can hardly find the words to express my sadness at Daryl’s unexpected passing. I have so many memories of dinner parties, Patricia Beach days, Pine Point Falls, camping, etc. He was always there for me. We danced and we laughed and we cried.
My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family ❤️❤️ He will be greatly missed

I first met Daryl through our line of duties at work. He was a loving soul, always easy to put a smile on his face. He was always up for a nice conversation, and was definitely the type of guy that people were attracted to. Despite the fact that our careers took us in different directions, I always inquired about how he was doing from others. There were other co-workers and friends who echoed the same sentiment (on his passing), because people were very fond of him.
My condolences to his family and friends, he will be missed; may the Lord watch over him.
