Obituary of Lizzie Smith

It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of our mother Lizzie Smith (nee Breland). She passed away peacefully at home with family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Donna (Rodney) and Marlene (Glenn); sons Michael and David; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Gracia, Louise and Linda; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Victoria and Aime; husband Adelard; partner Dennis Boyechko; son Danny; son in-law Brian; brothers Lindzie, Reuben and Felix; and great granddaughter Danielle. Mom was born in Ste. Rose Du Lac and raised in Cayer, Mb. A big thank you to the palliative care team, home care team, Dr. Haresha and the pharmacy team. A Celebration of Lizze's life will take place on Friday, October 8 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent. Masks are required. You may no longer be by our side But now we have gained a guardian angel far & wide You were our families’ matriarch But now you are free & have left your mark You were never one to sing But now you are the sound of the wind beneath our wings You loved unconditionally no matter who you met But now you love endlessly with no regret Your body grew tired & you started to grow weak But now in our darkest hours you give us strength when things look bleak Your spirit was as bright as fires burning in the night But now your spirit has taken flight You will rise with the sun & shine thru the sky But the sun will not set as you will always be the twinkling in our eye We will miss you as you fly high with the doves But we will never forget you as you have taught us how to love Forever in our Hearts
