Mom was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Dacotah, MB. After high school, she moved to Winnipeg to attend Nurses Training. Shortly after meeting Dad, they were married and Mom moved to the farm in Brunkild.
There were many vacations over the years, but her favorite was the 2 weeks every summer in Clear Lake. For the past 35+ years, one could find Sharon in cabin #1 for 2 weeks in July. The first week was the ‘Sister Week and then the second week opened up to the rest of the family. Countless games of scrabble, happy hours and good times were had in Clear Lake.
Mom always looked forward to the annual lefse making day with her sisters, passing on the tradition to her kids and grandkids, making sure nobody strayed from the traditional ways.
Mom and Dad had so many good times and experiences shared together, it seems only fitting to have both of their lives remembered together with a joint service on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bestland Farm, Brunkild. All are welcome.
Special thanks to Dr. Brian Sharkey and Dr. Rhys Sharkey for their excellent care through this journey.
