It is with a very heavy heart that I give condolences to Pat’s huge wonderful family.
Pat was not only my cousin but a close friend. She was always up and smiling and
Made you feel good all of the time. Life to her was her family, children, grand children
And great grand children. She loved to share her time with them and had super stories
That made you laugh, or smile.
Good memories are the greatest gift anyone can give in this life, to honour them.
When my parents passed away five weeks apart (Florence and Sam Jakul ), life left us in a very dark place.
The void was huge, and it was Pat and Jim that helped fill that void bringing us
Back to living life again. We spoke and had conversations several times a week,
Pat always brought a smile to my life. We shared many fantastic evenings together
Every four to six weeks together, at each others homes, eating delicious dinners, drinking fine wines, listening to music,
And of course playing Texas hold em. During our card games, Pat would make
Us laugh using Jim as the aim of the joke, and he loved it, we would laugh all
Night and at times the laughter was so great it would bring tears to our eyes. That
Was our Pat.
Before her health got bad, we spent the last ten New Years eve’s together. We would
Order Chinese food, wear our hats and use our blowers throughout the evening,
And of course play Texas Hold em.. trying to watch when the clock would strike
Twelve. The jokes and laughter was wonderful, and the memories will be there
Forever. Good times.
Pat we are going to miss you big time, but I know you are listening and you
Are here with us. We will be together again and Jim can bring the music and
Rolly will bring the cards.
Good Bye for now my friend.

Allan, Debbie, Jim, Lois, Bob and extended family.
I will always remember Pat as a very dear and close friend whom I will miss. She was so much fun and I have so many memories that will keep her alive in my heart. Pat was one of a kind. She loved her music, dancing and card games. The only thing I remember her hating was flying. We did make it to Mexico several times which to her was a miracle. She didn’t trust those planes. She truly loved her family and the collage and tribute shows how dedicated she was to you and you to her. Thank you for those memories.
Pat fought the good fight and was so brave throughout her illness. She always put on a cheerful face for Roberta and I when we visited and we always had something to remember and laugh about.
Rest In Peace, dear friend.
Deepest Sympathy to you.
Love, Doreen

I was very saddened to hear of Pat’s passing. My condolences to her family.
I was a young Crown Attorney when I met Pat and the very close group of incredibly capable and professional Court Reporters she was part of. They whipped me into shape and even today court staff and reporters here in Ontario where I am working comment on how they appreciate the manner in which cases are presented before them. I always say “ I was trained by the best”. Pat was one of those “best”. Her work was impeccable. On top of that she always had a smile and a cheerful comment to make no matter how heated court proceedings got between lawyers.
And socially (those were the days when the people involved in the Courts often got together for celebrations or even just an end of the week drink or 3 and a bit of partying!!) Pat was always a classy act and made me laugh so hard at times. I recall her always asking about my kids and how they were. I have fond memories of her and those days, that I will never forget. Thank you Pat.
I was saddened to hear of her failing health from Roberta - but I understand that even then she had a great sense of humour.

What a beautiful tribute to my dear friend Pat. She clearly lived a rich life with family and friends. Pat never had a bad word to say about anyone. What more can one ask for in life? For over 40 years we played bridge at each other’s homes, the same gals - Pat, Doreen and Bev, all former court reporters. The meals were spectacular, as usual, where even I had to step up to the plate. We had good times, good games and good laughs. Her obituary left me with not only fond memories, but a tear and a smile. I look forward to our summertime celebration of Pat’s life. Roberta Baty
