Peggy Delaurier

Obituary of Peggy Ann Delaurier

With heavy hearts, we announce that our mother, Peggy, passed away on Friday January 14, 2022 at the St. Boniface Hospital in the City of Winnipeg at the age of 69 years. After a hard-fought battle with illness due to complications of her open-heart surgery in September, she passed peacefully with her children by her side. Peggy was born on July 6, 1952, in Simcoe, Ontario to father Gordon Bishop and mother Jeanine Bishop, who predeceased her. Peggy is survived by her children Lisa, Brian (Tina), Christine (Bill), Teresa, Tom (Cher) and Kelly; her grandchildren Justine, Noah, Ethyn, Elijah, Mya, Carly, Olivia, Hunter, Cali, Halen, Sabrina and Rainey; her siblings; Gordie (Rosy), Debby, Pam and Vicky; and by many close friends and relatives. Anyone who knew Peggy knew her kind-spirited personality and her genuine heart. She had a great sense of humour, a love for music and classic movies, a creative talent for sewing and knitting, and enjoying the outdoors. Peggy’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was more than happy to be the central figure in their lives, always providing a listening ear, support and guidance. Peggy touched many peoples’ lives, making close friends throughout her life. She proved you don’t need to pursue some great calling beyond loving the people around you to make a sizable impact. Her legacy carries on through all those that loved her. A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1282 Dawson Road, Lorette, MB. In Lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation – Circle of Compassionate Care in Peggy’s honour www.stbhf.ca; or, a donation made to Peggy’s Grandson, Rainey Delaurier’s, Go-Fund-Me account for his extensive surgery in Montreal https://gofund.me/1a894a05.
