Obituary of Shirley Ruth Watson

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Watson at the age of 88 years, with her family at her side. Shirley will be missed by daughters Cheryl McMechan (Dave), Cindy Goetz (Heinz) and Lori Watson; sons Trevor (Susan) and Kevin (Dawn); daughter-in-law Heather; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband Wes and son Glen. Mom loved to play piano for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing many different crafts and later in life Mom enjoyed adult colouring, which she has coloured over 2,500 beautiful pictures. Mom and Dad belonged to St. Pauls Anglican Church in Middle Church for many years and made many wonderful friendships there. Mom had lived at Donwood Assisted Living Apartments for the last three years. She loved all the staff and the many homecare workers she had. Thank you for being so kind to our mother in the time she lived there. The family would also like to thank all the wonderful staff at Concordia Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital, Deer Lodge Centre and special thanks to Dr. Burkett and Nurses Maggie and Colleen. In accordance with Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. “We hold you in our hearts until we can hold you in Heaven”
