It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Al Kohut, of Winnipeg, on April 13, 2022, at the age of 66.
He is survived by his wife Barb of 46 years; two daughters Christina (Mourad) and Jessica (Owen); his two grandchildren Noah and Nohaila, who were the apple of his eye; his sister Judy (Ed); and many other family members.
He was a lifelong lover of motorcycles and loved to ride. He loved nothing more than the wind blowing through his hair on a nice long ride. He will be remembered as a music lover, who appreciated all the classics and could spend hours listening to his tunes or would join in by playing the bongos. Many people will hear a song, and think of Big Al. He also loved the solitude of a good book and was an avid reader. He loved sports, but no team more than his Bombers, #goblue.
He befriended people everywhere he went, and had friends from all over, whom he loved and spoke of often. But none more than his two lifelong best friends Andy and Bart, which the three of them made quite the dynamic trio.
Al loved to tell stories, and reminisce about the good old days, and he had a laugh that can still be heard.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2022.
In the words of one of his favorites, Dire Straits “You do the walk, yeah, you do the walk of life, Hmmm, you do the walk of life - Woohoo!”
We love you and will always miss you.
Until we meet again!
