My deepest condolences to Dave's family.
I got to know Dave at work, and for quite some time we were lunch buddies going for Indian buffet, Chinese food or burgers at A&W. It was such a pleasure working with Dave.
Dave was a great guy with many good stories to share. We for sure had some good laughs. He will be missed.

Dave was such a nice caring person at work. I worked with him here and there between 2007 and 2012 and then golfed with him in recent years. Brilliant and kind person always. I am sure he realized that he was probably the smartest guy in the room but he was always willing to listen and teach with patience. I enjoyed Monday night golf with Dave and his humble nature. My sympathies go out to the family and all who knew Dave.

My heart is with Dave and the family at this difficult time. Dave will be sorely missed.
This poem by Maya Angelou explains how Dave was like a great tree to me and many others...
When Great Trees Fall
When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.
When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.
When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.
Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
of
dark, cold
caves.
And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.

My sincerest sympathies to Dave’s family. Dave was a nice guy and was well respected by my late husband and his friend Ron Saull. They worked together at Great West Life for years. I recall running into Dave and his mother several times at the Pancake house on Sundays. We enjoyed many evenings together with Dave, Marion and his stepchildren. He was a good and talented man. He will be missed!
Love to you all
