I wanted to share some memories of Heather. I knew her through work at Family Services where she worked for years at Employment and Income Assistance. I worked with her and Sue Bentley on many projects and grew to appreciate her organizational and analytical abilities. She always helped out on the Board and various committees of Sair Centre of Learning. She was thorough, detail oriented and tackled her tasks with determination. People appreciated her dry sense of humour, her “Scottish” pride and her overall authenticity. Heather was a gem. Peace Heather.

My sincere condolences to all of Heather's family on her unexpected passing. I got to know Heather through various Scottish projects; the Tapestry Project, Scottish Heritage Council and Folklorama. She was a dedicated and hard working volunteer and she will certainly be missed. I know you her dear family will miss her greatly, and I offer my sympathy on your loss. Phyllis Fraser

Jillian Ian and family,
I am so saddened to hear of your tremendous loss. In the 20 years I have known Heather, she was consistently sweet, smart, hardworking, and as I got to know her better, a lot of fun. Her kindness and work ethic were legendary. I have many, many memories, like how she would put out a spread for us on Robbie Burns Day, going to the Scottish pavilion at Folklorama to watch you and your mom dance, participating in our department’s version of the Amazing Race, and I’m sure you remember our shopping trip to Minneapolis on the bus. And she was so proud of you and her grandchildren. Hold those memories close, and again, my deepest condolences. She will be missed.
