Obituary of Audrey June Pierce

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Audrey on September 6, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Robert James Pierce on March 15, 2006. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Rob (Sandra) Pierce, Brenda (Gerry) Wachal, Darlene (Ken) Walford, Darren (Lori) Pierce, Jeffrey (Kristin) Pierce, Colleen (Marcel) Belisle; grandchildren Samantha (Jordan), Christian, Alanna, Michael; Michelle (Evan), Kenneth (Magen); Matthew (Jazmin), David (Amanda), Melissa (Kelly); Ronald, Ryan (Jennifer), Nicholas, Nathan; Jaelyn, Hayden, Duncan, Morgan; Daniel, Sarah, Vincent and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Edith Cook and Vera Kramble; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was born at home in Transcona. She went to school to become a hairdresser and it was through this career she met Vera who later introduced Audrey to Robert her future husband. After raising six children, she had a part time career in retail food sampling. She learnt how to crochet and enjoyed making afghans for her children and grandchildren. Her family was always very important to her. She was very outgoing and was the life of the party. She always opened her home to family and friends and no one ever left hungry with her great cooking. She spent her last years at Kildonan Personal Care Centre where she was lovingly cared for. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the professional care and compassion they have shown Audrey in her time there. Cremation has already taken place and a celebration of Audrey’s life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Rd., Winnipeg. Should anyone so desire, donations may be made in Audrey’s memory to The Manitoba Alzheimer Society.
