I did Helen's hair for many years and I can tell you she was one client I always looked forward to. Bright, cheery, with an infectious laugh, you couldnt help but enjoy the time you spent with her. I'm sad to hear she is gone but I know she lived an enviable life , and to the fullest.

One can’t help but to smile when thinking of Helen. She was such an upbeat, positive person who knew how to have fun. She truly spread joy.
We were fortunate to go on a trip together to Italy. Although it was many years ago, the fun and delightful times we had have lived on since. There are stories to tell but as the saying goes, what happens in Italy, stays in Italy - like how she ended up with a birra Peroni glass from a pub…. or why there is a picture of her in bed with my husband….. oh Helen - you will be missed!
Our heartfelt condolences,
Cathi and Vince Cerasani

Our sincerest condolences Kelly & Brian, and Lori. I grew up with your mom in our neighbour and later with her as our lake neighbour. I can picture her sitting in her rocker on the back deck everytime I pass by the cabin. We hope that in time some of the pain in your heart can be replaced with all of the wonderful memories and stories of such a beautiful person, who made everyone she talked to feel special. Sincerely, Karen & Murray Haukaas

Helen was a wonderful neighbour from across the street when we lived in The Pas. She always had special treats for our boys at Halloween and on occasion when I looked out my window I would see her hosting the neighbourhood children. I recall several times asking our youngest son Sean where he had been and his reply was usually visiting “Mrs. Helen” who always had a cookie for him. She enjoyed seeing the children and having chats with them on her front steps. I remember her as a lovely, charming and gracious lady and I am sure she never had a hair out of place! She and her husband “Goldy” were known to everyone. Rest In Peace Dear Helen. Condolences to Lori and Kelly. She will be missed.

Condolences to Lori and Kelly. I have such good memories of Helen. We had such a good time curling. When she came to The Pas, she would come into the bank so we could have a good laugh. Lots of good memories.

My sincere condolences to Lori, Kelly and all of Helen's family. I always enjoyed Helen's sense of humour! My husband and I attended an Easter service a few years ago at Crescent Fort Rouge United and noticed a lovely lady in a beautiful hat - how delighted were we when we realized it was Helen, whom we hadn't seen in years! May you find comfort in all your memories. Sincerely, Patti Banks

My sincere condolances to all of you. While I am sure you have many wonderful memories to
cherish, the passing of the last parent is a major milestone in a child's life. You are now the 'senior generation".
I have many great memories of the years we were neighbours. Your mom was always so outgoing, friendly and willing to listen or lend a helping hand...right down to leaving the back door light on each Friday night so my date and I were never left in the dark. I always suspected she and my mom had some sort of an agreement and I can still imagine her and your dad chuckling together as they turned on the light.
I am delighted you still have Clearwater Lake. It is the most beautiful place on earth and I am sure that time there will be time to treasure old memories and make new ones.

I have fond memories of Helen going back a very long time. My earliest memory of her was when I was a kid in the mid to late 50's and Helen was the pretty and nice lady at Robinson's Store. She always took time to talk to my Mom and me. Little did I know I would grow up to work with that beautiful lady and become friends with her. She was always upbeat and I can still hear her laugh when I think of her. She will be dearly missed by many.

Lori and Kelly, I remember your mother so well, as we were next door neighbours in Harewood House. The block has not been the same since she moved out! She was the first person to visit us when we moved in on January 3, 1998. She had such a lovely apartment and wore such beautiful clothes and colourful hats. I remember her singing with the group at West Park Manor with Joan Rettie on Monday afternoons. My husband Bill drove Helen and her friends every Monday, and the jokes and laughter in the car were so delightful. Helen was always so positive and happy. She was always so passionate about curling, and her cottage. You will miss her, but remember her with love. You were such wonderful daughters to a wonderful mother, and you are in my thoughts at this time. Love, Margaret Owen

Lori and Kelly, I am so sorry for your loss.
We are first cousins that unfortunately lived a great distance apart.
I remember your Mom so fondly, as I remember the times that we all spent together.
Though we were not close, we are family.
I remember how your Mom loved Tonka so much, and the bow that was always in Tonka’s hair.
Your Mom, (my Aunt Helen) would always make me feel so loved and welcome whenever we we would visit.
I wish peace for both of you, and I know that you will have your Mother’s strength to see you through, and her love to comfort you both.
All my love,
Glynnis xo

My sympathy to Helen’s family. She was the same age as my dad, Hugh Kines, and her mom and dad lived next door to my grandparents, Alvin and Ethel Kines, in Roblin. Many good memories of the Souter family in Roblin.
