Obituary of Louise Lorette Marie Muller

Louise Tremblay was the youngest of six children, with brothers Gérald, Roland, and Léo-Paul and sisters Irène and Lorraine (joined at the hip their entire lives). They grew up in north Saint-Boniface. A home rich in love and happiness. The house was the hub of activity in the neighborhood. During their youth, Louise and Denis crossed paths frequently in Provencher Park. Denis and his twin brother Aimé played football, while Louise and her sister Lorraine played on the swings. In time, a 17-year old Denis asked 15-year old Louise out for a date at a neighbourhood restaurant. After a two-year courtship, Denis proposed on the Paddlewheel Queen. A nun happened to witness the proposal and gave them a benediction, setting the stage for a long and loving marriage. Louise and Denis married on September 18, 1971 and the rest is history. They began their marriage with many adventures, camping, fishing and waterskiing with Aimé and Yvette, many family and friends. Louise had played matchmaker for many of their friends, all of whom remained together. In 1978, they welcomed their first child Michel, and in 1981 twins Alain and Daniel completed the family. The boys' upbringing was joyous and fun loving, with the home being the site of endless parties and family gatherings, meticulously decorated for each holiday or occasion by Louise. The Muller and Tremblay families ate, laughed, sang and played games together – often. Birthdays were massive events. Many summer weekends were spent at the cottage together playing cards and board games. Louise loved watching her kids play sports, celebrating their strengths. She was extremely proud of anything and everything her kids did. She instilled her boys with confidence, to have an opinion, to be empathetic, to be funny, but most of all to think of family first. She proudly served the Federal Public Service for over 25 years. An artist, avid crafter, a frequenter of garage sales, a sports fan, and above all devoted to her family. She found pride and passion in her Métis heritage and enjoyed sharing recipes passed on by the family. She was passionate and witty; she loved to laugh and enjoyed being the family maestro. Louise always asked her boys to provide her with grandchildren and the announcements of Maëlle and Elliott were greeted with instant tears of joy. Her love of them was profound, spoiling them every time they were together. Her grandchildren's passion for anything creative - painting, drawing, crafting – comes from mémère. While her struggle with diabetes, dialysis, and everything that came with it took a toll on her, her spirit remained bright. Louise maintained childhood friendships her whole life - Diane, Murielle, Elise, their husbands, and many others. Her bond with all her siblings is eternal. Louise built the foundation of our home. The glue that bound us. Mending us when broken. Denis' soulmate. Our powerful maman. Our loving mémère. Our angel. On t'aime maman. Tu nous manques. À plus tard. Louise Tremblay était la plus jeune de 6 enfants, avec les frères Gérald, Roland et Léo-Paul et les sœurs Irène et Lorraine (toujours inséparables). Ils ont grandi au nord du boulevard Provencher, dépourvus de richesse matérielle mais comblé en amour et de joie. La maison Tremblay était un véritable centre d'accueil pour les jeunes du quartier. Durant leur jeunesse, Louise et Denis se croisent régulièrement au parc Provencher. Alors que Denis et son frère jumeau Aimé jouaient au football, Louise et Lorraine se balançaient. Armé de courage, Denis, 17 ans, a invité Louise, 15 ans, à sortir au resto du quartier. Deux ans plus tard, il lui a demandé en fiançailles sur le Paddlewheel Queen. Une religieuse, étant témoin de la scène, leur a donné sa bénédiction. Louise et Denis se sont mariés le 18 septembre 1971 et sont resté fidèle et amoureux pendant 51 ans. Le début de leur mariage fut marqué par de nombreuses aventures, camping, pêche et ski nautique avec Aimé et Yvette, et de nombreux amis. Louise était souvent « matchmaker » avec plusieurs de leurs amis, dont plusieurs d'entre eux sont toujours en couple aujourd'hui. En 1978, elle accouche d'un premier garçon Michel, suivi par les jumeaux Alain et Daniel en 1981. La vie familiale des garçons fut joyeuse et amusante, la maison étant souvent le lieu de fêtes et de rencontre en famille, méticuleusement décorées pour chaque occasion par Louise. Les familles Muller et Tremblay mangeaient, riaient, chantaient et jouaient souvent ensemble. Les anniversaires étaient des grands événements. De nombreux week-ends d'été furent passés au chalet à jouer aux cartes et aux jeux de société. Louise aimait regarder ses enfants faire du sport, célébrer leurs victoires mais aussi d'aider à accepter les défaites. Elle était extrêmement fière de tous les accomplissements de ses enfants. Elle leur a appris l'importance d'être confiant, d'avoir une opinion, d'être empathique, d'être drôle, mais de penser d'abord et avant tout à la famille. Elle a fièrement servi la fonction publique fédérale pendant plus de 25 ans. Dans ses temps libres, elle était une artisane passionnée, une habituée des vente-garage, une passionnée de sport et surtout dévouée à sa famille. Elle était fière et passionné par son héritage métis et aimait partager les recettes transmises par la famille. Elle avait tout un sens d'humour et acceptait bien son rôle de chef d'orchestre pour la famille. Louise rêvait longtemps de devenir grand-mère. Les annonces de l'arrivée de Maëlle et d'Elliott furent de très grands moments de joie et d'émotion. Son amour pour eux était profond et elle profitait de chaque moment pour les gâter. La passion de ses petits-enfants pour tout ce qui est créatif - peinture, dessin, artisanat - vient de Mémère. Pendant ses longues périodes de lutte contre le diabète, la dialyse et tout son lot de difficultés, elle est demeurée résiliente et positive. Louise a toujours maintenu ses amitiés d'enfance - Diane, Murielle, Elise, leurs conjoints et plusieurs autres. Son amour pour ses frères et sœurs était toujours évident. Louise était la pierre angulaire de notre famille, celle qui nous unissait, qui ramenait sur le droit chemin. L'amour éternelle de Denis. Notre puissante maman. Notre douce mémère. Notre ange.
