It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lily Marguerite Adams (Neal) on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Lily will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Shannon (John); her grandchildren Nathan and Matthew; brothers Bob Neal (Kelley) and Peter Neal (Lorna); Roy and Gwen Adams; Phil and Gwen Shelvey; close friends Gerry and Karen Guse; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Lily was predeceased by her loving husband Dennis; her parents Victor and Marguerite Neal (Prud’Homme); and two brothers Claude Neal and Leo Neal. Lily was born and raised in Gravelbourg Saskatchewan, she also lived in Coleman and Calgary Alberta before finally settled in Winnipeg, Mb where she married her husband of 32 years Dennis Adams. Lily worked as a bank teller for several years before she started her career at Vital Statistics where she worked from 1982-2003 when she retired. Family was important to Lily, she loved spending time with her family and friends and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Lily enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing a game of cards, cooking, baking, and gardening. She also loved sitting outdoors and enjoying the sunshine. She loved her puppy Cookie, they would go for a daily morning car ride to McDonald’s for a coffee and muffin, afternoon walks around the neighborhood and evening cuddles when watching TV or reading books. Lily loved to travel, besides yearly trips to visit family and friends she also visited the Bahamas, Las Vegas, Reno, the East Coast, Niagara Falls, Wisconsin, Cuba, Mexico and most recently Hawaii. Mom dedicated many volunteer hours, after her retirement, to several organizations. The family thanks the caring staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion in Mom’s final days. If so desired, donations can made in Mom’s memory to Palliative Manitoba, 2109 Portage Avenue, 204-889-8525.
