Obituary of Kenneth David Oliphant

Kenneth David Oliphant passed away at Health Sciences Centre on March 19th, 2023 at the age of 91. Ken was predeceased by his wife Yvonne and daughter Karen in 2006. He is survived by his brother Gar, sons Craig (Carla), Robert (Michelle), grandchildren Heather(Dan), Adrianna, Jessica (Jean), Brendan (Kaylin), Christopher, Rebecca, Kyle (Lisa), Corey (Carrie) and Chelsea, along with 8 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Eden, Nael, Alek, Knox, Penelope, Ralph and Louis. Ken spent most of his career in sales; selling office supplies, giftware and diamonds. He lived in Winnipeg all his life but greatly enjoyed travelling around Canada and the world. Ken grew up in the West End and in Norwood, where he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey. He excelled at both. He always encouraged an active lifestyle with his family by coaching their sports or simply taking them swimming, playing golf and walking. Ken was also an avid CFL and NHL fan. Our Dad loved the Lord and had a servant's heart. He was very involved in his church and loved to volunteer at Elim Chapel. His devotionals were an important part of his daily life. It was a common sight to see him in his living room chair reading his bible or devotionals. Ken also enjoyed books, doing word searches and listening to his favourite music, big band, jazz and classical. Ken was a very loving father and grandparent as he attended and supported their sporting events, concerts and productions. He was very proud of his family. Ken was well loved by those in his life. He was a gentle and happy soul. He had a great sense of humour and an infectious smile. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
