Obituary of Paul Everett Ross

It's with unimaginable sadness the Ross family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Paul Ross on July 10, 2023.

Paul will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Sharlene; his grandchildren Nevaeh, Stephen, Shandessa and Fatima; his brother Jim and sister Patricia (Darren); sister-in-law Donna; cousins Barbara, Sheila (Chris) and Kathy (Mike); many dear cousins; nieces, nephews, and too many friends to name all of them.

He was predeceased by his parents Wilmer and Madeline; as well as his brothers Lenny, Doug and Rick; his nephew J.J.; and sister-in-law Marilyn.

Paul was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End, he was born with a hearing disability and attended the School for Deaf for many years.

Paul had several jobs in his working career including the City of Winnipeg, Motor Coach Industries and Super Boys restaurant, but preferred to be self-employed as a handy man and jack of all trades. He was skilled at dry walling, painting, concrete installation and landscaping, which he enjoyed. His preference was to be self-employed so he could work on his own terms.

Paul was a member of AA for over 40 years and attended several AA groups and conventions.

He spent many hours fixing vehicles, going to Bingo and he thoroughly enjoyed spending many days at Winnipeg Beach.

Paul was very outgoing and had a gift of the gab.  He was a very animated story teller and often had his audience in stitches. Everyone would say he was quite the character.

Paul was happiest when he was visiting and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. After each visit with them, he would be telling everybody about his activities while he was with them.

Paul lived life in the simplest of terms and there was nothing materialistic about him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed assistance, especially when it came to auto repairs.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, to make a donation to a charity of your choice.

Cremation has taken place.

There will be no formal service and a private gathering of family will take place at a later date.
