Erika was a kind and gentle person. She always had smile when she greeted us. When we visited the farm she would see us coming and she would come out of the front door and walk toward us, greeted us and gave us a bussy{hug}. She would then take Lore and me to the flower beds surrounding the house. Erika then took us to the flower and vegetable garden.---She was very proud of all of this. Erika then invited us into her sanctuary {her house}. We would either sit in her dining or living room. Erika would go to the kitchen and bring us coffee, dainties and cookies.---We then chatted .---Erika would the take Lore to her bedroom and show Lore her latest purchases.
The following was related to me by my wife Lore.
During their treck from Halbstadt ,Ukraine in there horse drawn covered wagon to Germany somewhere enroute Erika was sleeping and when she woke up she belted out the song---So Ein Tag, so wunderschoen wie heute.
Erika will be missed. She was a gem.
May God take her soul and reunite with her sisters Edith and Lore, Mother and Father .
